Malorees School

Malorees teachers & parents team-up for the London Winter Run

Congratulations – and thank you – to our 26 Malorees parents and nine teachers who overcome their nerves and the cold weather to complete the Cancer Research London Winter Run 10km.

The Winter Run is now one of the country's largest mass participation event with 23,000 people taking part.

Some of our runners had never attempted anything like this before and, before doing training runs together, several were unsure at first whether they actually wanted to!

But the huge smiles on everyone’s faces tell a great story. Click below to see some pictures from our Galleries section of the website:

Our team ran to raise money for Arts in Infants and Juniors, including our two Arts Weeks. An incredible £5,842 has been raised - thank you to everyone who so kindly donated!

Amounts were also raised for Cancer Research and the local food charities, St Laurence’s Larder and Sufra NW.

Thank you again to our very kind sponsors @MoberlySportsCentre and @bagsoflove.

The Moberly have been generous to reward runners with a month's free membership of their sports centre.

BagsofLove again provided the wonderful t-shirts that were designed by the children.

Other opportunities to enjoy sport with the family

If you love these photos, please join us for this event next year – or for the equally fantastic Blenheim half or quarter triathlon on June 2nd.

Anyone can take part – you can even split the swim/bike/run between different people and take on the Teacher Team in the Relay! Please contact giles.deards@btinternet.com for more details.

Pictures of last year's Blenheim event are below. You don't need any current level of fitness to enter.and there is a very popular children's duathlon event.

In June the British Triathlon Trust will again be staging a Duathlon for all the children - the third year of this hugely popular event.
