Kensal Rise Library thanks Malorees for its support

The Kensal Rise Library Team has sent thanks to the Malorees school community for its fundraising support at July's Summer Fair.

Stephanie Schonfield of the Library Team posted a picture and her thanks for the £425 cheque to the Library's social media followers, as follows:

"THANK YOU MALOREES SCHOOL FOR DONATING HALF THE PROCEEDS OF YOUR SUMMER FAIR TO KENSAL RISE LIBRARY!

You can see Malorees....in the photo presenting a cheque for a whopping £425!!! This will go towards our fundraising effort of £12,000 to build a children's library.

We are very humbled to receive this donation, particularly as the other half of what Malorees raised went to the Grenfell Tower Appeal."

Malorees PSFA has been supporting the Library as a community partner for 18 months and both our teams are partnered with Daniels Estate Agents on Chamberlayne Rd. Malorees also teamed up successfully recently for the Blenheim Triathlon.

Further support

The Library team of volunteers hopes to open before the end of 2018 and its key challenge, other than raise money, is to find further volunteers to help them set-up and run the Library, which is entirely community-funded. The Library is completely independent of the Council and receives no public funding.

The team needs to raise an average of £100 a day to operate the library. It is also currently fundraising to build the Children’s Library at a further cost of £11,000

If you can help them with any volunteer support or financial donations, however small, please contact  kensalriselibraryvolunteers@hotmail.com or visit https://mydonate.bt.com/charities/friendsofkensalriselibrary
